What’s with the “C2″?

E = MC2

I have never understood the “C2″.

What are the units? Lets use the Newton as a unit of mass, and for the energy I will create a new unit: the Einstein. An “Einstein” is that amount of energy created if one Newton of mass is completely truned into energy. On this basis E=M.

If I decide that the Newton is a little too small and decide on a “Burger”, which is 1000 Newtons then it E = 1000M
